Weta Workshop

While they service the world's entertainment and creative industries, we concentrate on making their payments process smoothly.

Meet our customer, Weta Workshop.

For Magnus, working with Weta was not just a job, it was his dream job in the coolest little capital, working with the best. Back in 2001, when The Lord of the Rings was first released, Weta Workshop partnered in a joint venture and sold their jaw-dropping collectibles through their partner websites. Noting this was not the best way to service customers and not scaleable, Weta Workshop moved to have their own e-commerce site. Magnus leads their efforts selling collectibles and pop culture to their fans all over the globe online through their beautifully designed website, making it simple for their customers to get their hands on the latest creations crafted by the artisans of film.

Weta Workshop Consumer Products sells many thousands of products annually of high emotional value to collectors in Europe, China, US and many other markets. They wanted to enhance customer service but had one big problem at hand; they didn’t have a multi-currency account or a way to process these payments in their customers’ own currencies. To top that, the time and effort spent on calculating and re-calculating exchange rates was getting out of hand. Their old bank didn’t support multi-currency accounts, so Paystation recommended they move their merchant facility to BNZ in order to utilise Paystation’s multi-currency gateway. They’ve never looked back. Weta Workshop now advertises the pricing of their online goods and services in overseas currencies giving their customers confidence by allowing for an informed purchase.

“For us it’s pure genius! Paystation has simplified the way we do online payments to process our sales to help us reduce disputes and charge-backs, admin time, increase our conversions and have improved our overall business processes around online payments. Our aim has been to be transparent, true and humble to our customers and working with Paystation has given us that platform of trust we needed to provide a top notch experience. Never have I been woken up with a 5 am customer payment issue call. The team at Paystation not only services our account but proactively offers us solutions to better our processes, that’s pure gold. We love their friendliness and ethical behavior. They’re a good bunch of people doing great things to help us provide a flawless online experience for our customers across the world.

“Our World was quite complicated until we moved our payments to Paystation”
